Mark DeRosa grows weary of this mortal coil.

The Nationals this offseason did sign

A man whose power threat is most benign

Utility has been this player’s role

But many seasons played will take their toll

The last two years his home run count is one

While injuries kept him unfit to run

From team to team his path has seen him roam

Perhaps the Nats will be his final home

By any other name will swing as sweet

For if he quits to lounge and drink mimosas
